I would so recommend this guard. We have a log burner and have tried the usually child fire guards, but were fed up having to move the whole thing to stoke up the fire! With the baby dan guard having a gate at the front, it is so easy. It looks stylish too. It comes with all the fixture and fittings to attach to the wall, but we have'nt had to use these. mThe one and only downfall is that a child could push toys through the railings!
This product is first class, it's quite robust and due to it's flexible joints it caters for quite a lot of different configurations. In addition, it can be easily removed from the wall mounts and stored away when the kids go to bed.

Using panels of 60cm width (one of which contains a gate), they have a product what can be moulded into whatever the user needs. - The same materials are used for the PlayPen (6 panels), the awkward stair/door gate (3 panels) and you can also get additional panels (both the standard 60cm and a smaller 20cm width) to make it more flexible.
I went with the 5 panel item, firstly I was not sure what configuration would suit best (either 3, 4 or all 5 panels) & while the 3 panel version was slightly cheaper, it did not have free delivery. In the end I am only using 3 panels.
I research products thoroughly before settling on an item, so am fairly sure what I am getting. The item is exactly as I expected.
- To change angle of panels, you lift (the higher side) and rotate (basic enough, but just need a little coordination). Item was already put together in the box - you would do this to open it out & if you wanted to store it, you could rotate back into the flat position.
- To remove a panel, you push up the connecting pole & slide out bottom (takes seconds).
- For attaching to a wall, a fitting is supplied (in 3 pieces - the 1st clamps around end pole, second item fits between clamp & can be adjusted in/out to allow for skirting board & the 3rd is a receiver which is fitted permanently to the wall, so you can just lift gate and remove if required) along with screws for attaching to wood - you will need alternative fittings for other wall surfaces.

I searched for ages to find a suitable baby guard for our pot belly stove. Thought id have to get one specially made until I came across the Baby Dan one. Its fantastic. Its really sturdy, ours isnt even attached to the wall yet but probably as baby gets stronger we'll have to, but its grand for now. The front opening gate is great for getting access to the stove. And best of all is that it isnt an eye sore like most of those other baby gates out there. Well worth the higher price tag - you really couldnt compare it to other cheaper fire gates. Highly recommend it.
Works exactly as described, easy to fix to wall and quick to remove when needed. Gate works well for access to fire. Looks smart. Prefer the woodburner with the guard rather than without, finishes it off nicely.
Had Baby dan play pens in the past (same as hearth guard) and would recommend these to anyone.

What can you do?
Easy. Buy this guard. Its the dogs doodahs.
We took out two panels and so we have configured it with just the gate section and the two end panels and these wrap round our expensive toys nicely.
Now our daughter crawls up to the guard and looks longingly through the bars at my playstation move (her favourite chew) and the dog has totally lost interest in the telly now that she cant get up close and personal.
When looking for a way to toddler proof our telly, we did a quick google and ended up reading some horror stories about kids being killed by big telly's falling on them.
Trust me, you read one of those news stories and you buy a guard pronto.
This is the most quality guard I have ever seen and we are chuffed to bits with it.

Having just bought a beautiful new log burner, I was very worried about then disguising it with an ugly great fire guard and losing any more space in an already quite packed living room. I do, however, have an 18m old little girl, so disguised it had to be. I bought this gate guard based on all of the reviews, and I am very pleased I did. It is big, and it does take over more space than my hearth but it's as attractive as you could wish for and as easy as pie to put up and adjust. It also packs flat so you can remove it when you have friends over and the kids are in bed. Brilliant gate for access to the burner and it doubles up to dry clothes on in an emergency! Jeans dried in ten mins. All in all, highly recommended.
This premium hearth gate is brilliant. It does just what the producers says it does. It's strong and it's variable size means it can be used in different locations. The black wall fastenings are rather intrusive though, and so we fashioned our own with some chain link and hooks. This means that when the gate is not in use all that is on the wall are 2 hooks rather than long black fittings. Other than this small gripe it's an excellent product, very well made and strong and very good value for money. Also it was delivered in the promised time frame.
This is very adaptapble with its 5 pieces and sturdily made. It matches the dull black of the logburner really well and protects grandchildren from the hot stove. It also is great for airing clothes. You have to look at the instructions carefully to assemble it but once it is together it stays together.
This is everything i hoped it would be. After much research this really seemed to be the only (or certainly the best) option to cordon off the hearth stone, coal bucket, log basket and stove. And despite the 3m cage (in fact we've 3.4m, using 2 x 20cm extensions as well) now sitting at the heart of the sitting room, it actually doesnt seem to intrude into the room. And i can let the kids play around it, its sturdy, secure and perfectly safe. The bars stay cool even in the face of a roaring fire. Its perfect. Well worth the price.
